One of the 'godfathers of AI' Geoffrey Hinton has shortened the odds of total human extinction in 30 years from AI^[1]

expresses both excitement and concern about the future of artificial intelligence. He believes AI has the potential to do enormous good, but also warns of potential dangers, including the possibility of AI becoming more intelligent than humans and potentially taking over. He advocates for careful consideration of the risks associated with AI development, including the spread of misinformation, job displacement, and the potential for biased AI systems.
